Thanks Phil. Glad you’re liking playing with the iPad, it’s a very capable device. Have you seen our smartphone/tablet navigation article? It’s a bit newer than this one: https://www.cyclingabout.com/the-best-apps-for-gps-navigation-on-a-smartphone/

Can’t wait to get to Sri Lanka one day!

I have surly LHT, you say it is the bench mark. You suggest changing the seat and getting V brakes and I have done that. Everything you say and do I agree with, because that is what I do. I just I wish I had a beautiful girlfriend like you. You know I used to use a Garmin Dakota and Google maps to tour with. Each day I would spend hours putting the waypoints using a special programme to transfer them to my little netbook.
But now I have a iPad and I am wondering how I can use that. I now use the Google maps to find my way around and it seems already to be a much better way and thanx to your great articles I am now beginning to see the full potential of the device. Today I saved my first map. Now all have to do is work out how all the other aps work.
Thanx
PS, if you liked the nature in Laos eg limestone cliffs and and temples in Cambodia eg Ankor Watt you’d love Sri Lanka. It has temples, mountains and fabulous beaches
